Kim Choukalas of Macerich leads a tour of Kierland Commons, the outdoor shopping center in Scottsdale, Arizona. It's a mixed-use, vertical collection of narrow streets with ground floor retail and office and residential above. Kim explains how retailers appeal to the lifestyle of the center's core shopper, how dining serves as a traffic driver and why retailers like tourists.
